Fourth-Person Knowing: Unlocking Deeper Capacities for Collective Change

Online Tuesday January 28 19.00-21.00 CEST

In this in-person Phenomenal Conversation, we will explore Fourth-PersonKnowing, an alchemical way of understanding and experiencing the world that transcends and includes conventional ways of thinking. This approach suggests that deeper sources of knowing can emerge when individual and collective intention and attention align to create conducive conditions for this experience to arise.

As our world faces increasingly complex global challenges,traditional models of knowledge and decision-making are rapidly becoming obsolescent. Fourth-Person Knowing offers multilayered, diverse, and inclusive ways to tap into the new possibilities, guiding collaborators and co-creators towards more integrated, collective pathways forward.

This event will feature a live interview with Eva Pomeroy,Research Lead at the Presencing Institute and core faculty of U-Lab (MITxOnline). This conversation and event is designed not to deliver a fixed set ofanswers, but to open the space for an emergent, collective exploration. Eva will offer insights from her ongoing action research into transformative collective learning, and together, we will engage in a dynamic inquiry into what Fourth-Person Knowing might look like in practice.

Eva’s work focuses on creating spaces where collective intelligence flourishes, enabling deep, transformative change in both individuals and systems. In this live conversation, we’ll explore how this approach arose out of her co-explorations of the social field and its potential to unlock new levels of awareness and action.

What You’ll Experience:An Emergent Exploration: Rather than offering a traditional lecture, thiis conversation will unfold as an interactive, emergent dialogue. Eva will gesture toward the essence of Fourth-Person Knowing, inviting you to directly experience and explore it in real-time.

Five Key Phenomena arising in Fourth-Person Knowing: Together, we will reflect on key elements of this transformative knowing, such as;

The subtle awareness that transcends the individual self while remaining part of the collective.

A  shift in perception—time, space, and connection to the larger whole.

A  heightened sense of possibility that empowers action previously unseen.

Co-presence; the experience of being part of something larger while recognizing individual potential.

The practical results that arise when collective intelligence is activated and tapped.

Active Participation: This conversation is not just about listening—it’s an invitation for you to step into the inquiry, explore Fourth-Person Knowing firsthand, and reflect with others.The session will be fluid, allowing for deep, collective insight and shared learning.
